Australian based artist Valissa Butterworth creates process led works that attempt to quantify energy within space(s), with a focus on quantum science research she tests our ability to affect space and matter using transformative materials, light and colour. Taking an experimental approach of ‘what if’s’ to find the curious and other in materials. 

Multiple exhibitions locally and internationally with various works documented in Thames and Hudson publications, Valissa established a career in Lighting and Object design that includes numerous shortlists and awards for excellence across ceramics and glass before completing a Masters in Fine art in 2021. Post MFA education programs with the Contemporary Art academy in London continue to expand her thinking.
